Locations list

Reference for the Locations tab: screen layout, table columns, search and filters, Column Display, row and selection actions and the Share Locations drawer.

The Locations tab lists every active Location in the account. Archived Locations are not listed (see Archive and restore). For the steps to search, filter, share, download or archive Locations, see Browse and manage Locations.

Screen layout

The Locations tab shows a count beside its name, an information icon beside the page title, a search box (Search locations...), the filters Location Group and Trade Partner, the Add Locations button, the settings gear icon, a table and page controls. The information icon reads "Manage location details, alias ids, documents, sharing, inventory, and data policy."

The gear icon opens the Location tab of Settings: Master Data Settings > Location. See Master Data Settings.

Table columns

The default columns have sort arrows beside their headings.

Location Name	Yes	Name of the Location
Location Identifier	Yes	Your identifier for the Location
Owner	Yes	The Wholechain account that owns the record
Owner Location Identifier	Yes	The Location Number or ID used in the Wholechain account of the Location's owning Trade Partner. Listed for reference when the Location came from a connected Trade Partner.
Network Status	Yes	Self for your own company's Locations; External for Locations that belong to other Trade Partners
Trade Partner	Yes	The Trade Partner the Location belongs to
Location Group	No	The group the Location belongs to
Location Type	No	The type of Location
GLN	No	Global Location Number
DUNS	No	DUNS number
License Number	No	License number
Address	No	Full address. Blank when the Location was added with coordinates only.

Search and filters

Control	Behavior
Search box	Matches the Location name and the Location Identifier
Location Group filter	Narrows the table to the Locations in the chosen group
Trade Partner filter	Narrows the table to the Locations of the chosen Trade Partner

Column Display

The filter icon at the right end of the table header opens Column Display. It has check boxes to show or hide columns, arrows or drag handles to reorder them, and Reset to restore the default columns and order.

Row and selection actions

Action	Where	What it does
Select a name	Location Name cell	Opens the Location drawer (see Location details)
View Location	... menu	Opens the Location drawer
View Settings	... menu	Opens the Location's own settings page, which holds its data policy (see Location details)
Manage > Archive	... menu	Archives the Location. A Location with active inventory cannot be archived, and the item appears greyed out.
Selection bar	Appears at the bottom after one or more rows are ticked; shows n selected	Offers Link, Share, Download and a ... menu
Link > Link to Location Group	Selection bar	Links the selected Locations to a Location Group
Share	Selection bar	Opens Share Locations (see below)
Download	Selection bar	Downloads an Excel file with the master data of the selected Locations, showing all fields found on the Details tab. The columns are listed in Export files.
... > Archive	Selection bar	Archives the selected Locations, provided none has active inventory
