Troubleshooting and FAQ for Trade Partners

Quick fixes for common Trade Partner problems and short answers to frequently asked questions, with links to the full articles.

Audience: Anyone who adds, edits, uploads or invites Trade Partners

Prerequisites: permission to view and edit master data in your account

Problem	What to do
Invalid PGLN when you create a partner	Check the number, including its last (check) digit. See Add Trade Partners.
A bulk upload shows an error banner	Select Download issues file and read its Errors column. Fix those rows. Before you upload again, check the list, because rows that had no errors may already have been added. Remove those rows from the file so you do not add them twice.
You cannot find a partner	Clear the filters. Search matches name, identifier, DUNS and PGLN. See Trade Partner List.
You cannot invite your own company	Your own company is not offered in the invite list. See Invitations.
The invite form does not offer a Location	Only Locations that belong to your own company are offered for sharing. See Invitations.
A new bulk-uploaded Location has the type Warehouse / Distribution Center	The Trade Partners template does not carry a Location type. Edit the Location afterwards.
Other or Self is missing from the Buyer / Supplier choices	The single Add form and the Trade Partner drawer offer only Buyer and Supplier. Use the spreadsheet to create a partner of type Other or Self. See Add Trade Partners.
