Locations – ReferenceLocation details

Location details

Reference for the Location drawer: its tabs, Basic Details and Contact & Address fields, aliases, attachments, sharing, permission levels and data policy.

Select a Location's name to open its drawer. The header shows the name and the icons for settings (gear), maximize and close (x). The gear icon opens the Location's own settings page, which holds the data policy for this one Location (see Data policy below). For the steps to view and edit a Location, see View and edit a Location.

To share several Locations at once, see the Share Locations drawer in Locations list.

EditorUse the Location in its traceability events, and edit custom data (KDEs) on the Location.

A shared Location can be used as a destination on Ship events and as an origin on Receive events.

Data policy

A data policy for one Location is set only on that Location's details drawer: select the gear icon, or choose View Settings from the row's ... menu in the Locations list, to open the Location's settings page and its Data Policy section. Data policies must first be switched on for the whole account by an Admin, in Organization Settings > Account. A policy set in Settings is universal for all Locations, and a policy for a Location Group is managed on the Location Groups sub-tab of Master Data Settings > Location, and also in the group's Data Policy tab (see Location Groups). Values are always entered on the individual Location.

The fields of the Add KDE drawer (KDE Source, Select KDE, Enforcement, Realization, Sharing) and the steps are described in Share a Location and set its data policy. The Data Element Library, KDEs and data policies are described in Data elements and policies, and the switch is in Account settings.
